Pick one setup and write it down
One. From everything in this course, the one that fits the hours you have and the way you think. Write it as rules specific enough that somebody else could point at your chart and say whether the setup is present. Everything else stays on the shelf; it is not lost, and you can come back to it in three months.
Thirty trades on demo, judged on compliance
Not on profit. Count how many of the thirty followed the rules you wrote. If it is fewer than twenty-five, the rules are unrealistic for your life and need changing before anything else is judged. Profit over thirty trades tells you very little; compliance tells you whether you have a method at all.
Then small, real money
Real money behaves differently in your hands, so the first live size should be small enough that losing it entirely changes nothing about your life. Its job is not to earn — it is to show you what you do when the number is real. Most people discover something here that no amount of demo revealed.
The arithmetic to expect
A method with a 45 percent win rate and a two-to-one reward is profitable, and it will also give you six losses in a row regularly. That is not the method failing; that is what a 45 percent win rate looks like from inside. Knowing this in advance is the difference between sitting through a normal run and abandoning something that worked.
The honest closing note
Most people who open a trading account lose money, and reading fifty lessons does not remove you from that group. What it does is make the losses smaller and the reasons legible, which is the only ground on which anybody has ever improved at this. If that sounds like a modest promise, it is — and every larger promise you will be offered elsewhere is a sales pitch.
In short
| Setups to run | One |
|---|---|
| First test | Thirty demo trades, judged on compliance |
| Compliance target | At least twenty-five of thirty |
| First live size | Small enough to be irrelevant |
| Expect | Long losing runs, even from a good method |
Common questions
How long before I can trade full time?
Longer than any course implies, and for most people the honest answer is never — which is not a failure. A method that adds to an income is a real outcome and a far more common one.
Should I buy a signal service or a course?
Not before you can follow your own plan for thirty trades. Somebody else’s signals cannot be sized by you, cannot be judged by you, and teach nothing about the part you actually need.
What is the single most useful habit?
Writing down the reason for a trade before taking it. It stops more bad trades than any indicator, because a bad reason is obvious the moment it has to be written in a sentence.
Trading forex and CFDs on margin carries a high level of risk. Most retail accounts lose money. Nothing on this page is financial advice or a recommendation to trade.
